Telos marketing switching a gear?

As some of you readers are well aware of, Pascals been winning the yearly friendliest customer service award for some years in a row now without even effort.

That however might now be changing based upon his announcement in Discord where he said quite openly but not completely unmystically that “we are now starting with the opposite idea…” by which he probably referred to the latter part of the message where he said that from now on news will be shared, and new users will be invited. Which indeed haven’t been the main focus lately.

He also in his usual clear form mentioned that we will see past, present, and future releases of Telos and XBTX and other things on pages like:
Bitcoin.com (organic) , NewsBTC.com (Press releases), Bitcoinist.com (organic), Cryptocompare.com (Sponsored), ambCrypto.com (sponsored), BTCmanager.com (review article), Micky.com.au (review article), Beincrypto.com (Review article), CoinCodex.com (sponsored) , Cryptonews.com (sponsored) , u.Today (Press Release), Cryptopotato.com (Sponsored)

By other words, in all kinds of subpar cryptocontent compared to the one you are reading now.

What does he mean by the past, present, future releases, I guess we find out when those releases start coming, but my guess, he means all the products already done, currently working, and about to come.

He also mentions that more portals will be added in 5 weeks, by which I suppose he means more of similar places where Telos will be marketed, and more importantly, I guess this means we will start seeing these releases on these places soon if he plans to add more in 5 weeks already.

Anyway, what this all says to me is that if you ever intend to buy more Telos/XBTX coins, you should do so now since very very soon we might see a Telos rocket to the moon much faster than Elon Musk plans to.

Video about Alexandria – a Proof of Storage solution to Telos.

Just yesterday something interesting happened, a new video was released on Twitter which was about something named Alexandria (first time I see this name) and which seems to be the many times before mentioned upcoming Proof of Storage solution coming to Telos.

Notice I have categorized this post as a rumor. Fact is, video is out, but pretty much everything else in here is drawing lines between dots in which I might be right, or then not.

Proof of Storage have been mentioned/talked many times in the past as coming to Telos, and there was even a vote regarding magnetic links to make this possible for Telos.

If I correctly understood, magnetic links idea was that instead of Telos blockchain actually storing for example a video, Blockchain would only store some sort of link to this video, and this way Telos could sort of contain videos and other big files, although in practice the blockchain itself wouldnt be storing the actual data.

Looking at the video it is also showing AML-now, which suggests that Proof of storage is connected with KYC one way or other, which sounds very interesting in sense that others have not put KYC layer to the Proof of Storage before, which means that Telos Proof of Storage is likely going to be having some unique features that other Proof of Storages don’t have.

Video also mentions with Alexandria the alternative internet to which first steps were took with the HIVE browser some time ago already.

It all sounds awfully lot like some previous Telos services are finally coming together, like AmiCould, AML-Now, Proof of Storage, Hive, and Teloscoin of course.

Interesting times ahead. Stay tuned and buy the coins while you still can, soon they might cost too much for Joey Regular to buy them anymore.

Pascal plans having an AMA session – send your questions in!

Some time ago Pascal was talking of holding an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, like he have had before, and today he repeated about that plan asking people to send their questions to him to prepare the answers in advance.

When will this AMA session be held, is not yet told, but when Pascal originally talked about it, he was talking of possibly holding it without any advance notice by just starting it at some point when he feels like doing it.

So maybe you are online to notice it, or maybe not, but that still doesn’t prevent you from making the questions burning in your brain for it since there is AMA-channel opened in Community Discord specifically to make your questions for Pascal to answer, and naturally that AMA session will be recorded and TELOSNEWS.COM will surely post you a link to it when it is available.

Therefore, hurry up to Discord, write your questions, and wait for the answers.

Vim3 based custom board for mining from Blueboxing.net

Someone threw a good idea, Pascal catched it, and only a couple of days later the land of Telos has a new product for people to throw their easy or hard-earned money at.

CPU mining is its own thing, and just like with your grandfathers Bitcoin ASIC Miners, it is always a question of Power Efficiency as in Power vs Energy consumption. However, unlike in Great Grandfathers Bitcoin machines, modern day CPU coins dont aim at getting Super Computer worth of power with a dedicated Nuclear Powerplant, but it is rather a quest for minimum Energy consumption with Maximum calculation power output.

For this Raspberry Pis and the rest have always been in miners interest, and while they are making more powerful versions of these little power horses, price tends to get up a bit too.

One of the more interesting ones currently in the market is the Vim3 board, but the cost is around 150 Euros, hence making them being a bit on the expensive side of things for miners with alternatives.

However, Pascal is now going to be putting a special order of customized Vim3 boards specifically aimed at miners by stripping down all the unnecessary stuff for miners, and leaving mainly the stuff needed, and as it happens to be, this drops the price quite much, actually, all the way to make it less than 100 Euros a board already, and if more orders come, the price might drop even more.

And yes, that is the nice part, he is not ordering just for himself, but he gives a chance for anyone else to join the order too, and this way the price could drop even more if enough buyers show up.

Currently he is offering 6 different options:

Early Bird, Miner Edition, Miner XBTX Edition, Miner Teloscoin Edition, Miner NHS Edition, and Cluster Editions.

Since there is lot of confusion on discord about this offer, I like to point out first that there is only one version of the board. So regardless which Edition you buy, you will always end up getting the same customized vim3 board, and regardless of the version you buy, you will be able to do exactly same with any edition, with possibly one exception.

The first four options, Early Bird, Miner Edition, XBTX and TELOSCOIN editions are very much one and same thing, with only difference being the method of pay.

If you buy XBTX edition, you will pay with XBTX.

If you buy TELOSCOIN edition, you will pay with Teloscoin.

You buy Miner edition or early bird edition, and you will pay with something else than XBTX/TELOS, as example, with Euros.

Especially with basic Miner Edition and Early Bird edition, only difference is the price. Early Bird edition, as name suggests, is meant for those who order first, and at some point Early Bird editions will run out of stock.

By other words. You have no reason to buy regular Mining edition as long as Early Bird edition exists, unless you simply want to pay more.

With XBTX and Teloscoin editions, there is also additional perk. For these editions include a T-shirt of your choice, from Telos/XBTX T-shirts.

Therefore if you think whether to buy regular Miner Edition or XBTX/Teloscoin edition, choice is obviously XBTX/Teloscoin since price is same, yet you get T-Shirt on top. There is absolutely no reason to buy regular miner edition unless you for some reason dont want to touch XBTX/Teloscoin at all but just want to buy the machine and miss the T-Shirt.

In addition, Teloscoin Edition brings even more benefit.

First of all, you will get 3 percent discount when paying with Teloscoin, this means that except for the Early Bird and cluster options, Teloscoin Edition is the cheapest.

And better than 3 percent discount on price, is the option to have Colocation for free.

For those who dont know what colocation means, it means that you wont receive the machine home, but it will instead stay at blueboxing.net offices ran by them, and they will even pay the electricity.

By other words, you dont lose any space and on top of that the board operates for free.

You can have colocation for other editions too but it will cost 50 Euros per board for them.

To put it in other way, Teloscoin edition is the nobrainer option from these editions since it is cheapest and on top offers even free colocation option, which is actually even more saving in sense that for every other edition, on top of the price you either pay colocation price or delivery to your home price. With Teloscoin edition you can save those by picking the free colocation. And even if you for some odd reason would at some point come to conclusion that colocation is not really for you, you can at that point ask them to send it to your home and pay the delivery price that you would have otherwise had to pay already before.

So no losses but only benefits from Teloscoin edition.

In addition to these 4 before mentioned editions, there are also 2 others.

First is the NHS edition.

NHS is Pascals NoHumanS, which I am not entirely sure what exactly it means in this case since as far as I know only Pascal owns any of them and hence I dont think it means the method of payment like with the other editions, but the price is around 10k Euros, and unfortunately, I am not able to tell any more about it, except it probably has to do with Pascals bot trading system where no humans are supposed to be involved, but only AI. But why the high price etc. no clue.

Second is the Cluster Editions.

Cluster edition means that you are buying at least 100 of these boards and they all work together. This is also why this option has a bit of extra price since it will take some work to set up and needs some equipment etc. to connect them all together. However, what makes this very appealing option is the colocation option, which is actually the only option for non-Germans, taking no space from you, and on top of that, Blueboxing will even pay for the electricity, meaning that theoretically you will one day be on the winning side just because of not needing to pay the electricity.

You could also choose to pay for example 100 or 200 VIM3 boards at once and get even more discount on the price. For example, buying 200 boards at once would drop the price by about another 10 percent compared to the early bird edition price.

For those interested in more technical details, including what have been left out of the board to make it cheaper, can check more from blueboxing.net:

From here

and here

also worth a read is this one here

And as a last thing, Pascal have said in discord that he is planning and hoping to make the order to the factory by end of this month, so you might not have even 2 weeks to make your order.
And what comes to ordering, when paying with cryptos, when you have finished your order you will receive automessage to confirm your order. After this you will have to wait until you will receive the actual invoice which will also tell you how many coins of your chosen cryptocurrency you are supposed to pay.

Notice however that if you are not using the free colocation option, then the delivery/colocation payment will be done on second step at order fulfilment part when boards actually arrive at blueboxing.net instead of at order time.

Now hurry up if you want to get this great miner deal!

PolisPay adds XBTX

Polispay Wallet added Bitcoin Subsidium (XBTX) as one of the supported coins already about a month ago (telosnews have lately been a bit slow at reporting news to you).

When Considering that there is currently no officially supported mobile wallet for Telos or XBTX, Polispay is a pretty good option to go to if a mobile wallet is what you are after at.

Not to mention that there is no officially supported noob-friendly option for XBTX wallet existing at all, and as exchanges are not always happy for people to use their exchange accounts as active wallets when that wallet receives continuous small income for example from mining, Polispay might well be a pretty good choice right now to be used as your Telos and XBTX wallets, both-in-one solution.

However, do keep in mind that Polispay is a third party, so they can decide whatever they decide without Telos or XBTX having any say on the matter.

And now it is time to catch up with Lucky 7’s latest article from August 8th, which is telling about the Bitcoin Subsidium (XBTX) based BAM token.

BAM token, or Brick And Mortar token has to do with real estates, and it is quite interesting to see what comes of it.

Telos Master Node installation guide available

For over a month already, there has been a Teloscoin Masternode Installation guide available at Teloscoin Forum.

If you are planning on setting up one and need some guide, then check from there.

This guide however only gives you instructions on how to set it up, and nothing more, and since there been quite a lot of following questions in the Discord Channel, I am going to add a bit of a troubleshooting guide in here:

Why isn’t my node giving me rewards?

is often asked in Discord channel, and reasons can be many, but here are some of them.

It might take a long time before you receive your first reward, especially if you are setting up a 100k node.

The more master nodes there are, the longer it takes for the first reward, or even the next reward to come.
Or to be more precise, more Telos Coins are attached to Master Nodes, longer it takes, meaning that one master node with 1 Million collateral, is the same as there existing 10 Master nodes with 100k Collateral.

And in Telos there is quite a lot of coins attached to Master Nodes, so rewards are slow.

To Check the current average times etc. you can check statistics from masternodestats.info

Another reason why you are not receiving rewards is since your node is one way or other not working properly.

There are loads of people who try to set up their master nodes to some low-cost minimum performance VPS, but you need to understand that if your server doesn’t meet the requirements, they might appear to be functioning normally, but not receive any rewards.

Thing is, there are so many reasons why this might happen, and there are even scenarios where a perfectly fine working node might not receive any rewards.

You might be using too little RAM or virtual RAM, which results in your node being a bit too slow.
Thing is, when rewards are distributed, it is done through consensus between nodes.

Idea is that each node will contact other nodes and say to them “Hey, how about me win the reward this round” and then these nodes continue contacting other nodes telling “Hey, node X suggested himself to be the winner, okay for you too?”, but then at some point there comes a situation where the other node answers “Sorry, I am already planning on giving my vote to Trump” and then the Node X loses.

Figuratively speaking the idea is that you start calling with a phone to your friends and speaking them through the phone to vote for you, and if you speak slow, your talk stutters, and you are using old-style phones where it takes longer to dial, then the guy who speaks fast and perfect and pushes only one button to call his friends, is able to get more people to his side before you are, and hence you keep losing the vote all the time.

This is exactly what can happen to your node. So while everything looks like they are functioning normally, you are not getting rewards, since your node is too slow to ever win the consensus on its side.

A slightly similar situation can happen with a perfectly fine working master node too, for thing is, all nodes have this independent auto banning system. Idea is that if some node tries to contact your node, and the connection isn’t very good, by other words slow replies, then your node will automatically ban this node leaving space for some better and faster node to connect to it since connection spots are limited.

While your node is working perfectly fine, if it however tries to reach to a node on other side of the globe, it is likely that the connection is slow and bad, and to keep connection good and faster, it will automatically ban connections from this node, so closer, better-connected nodes can connect to it and network stay fast.

So basically even if your node is working perfectly fine, but it happens to be in such a spot that connections to every other node are simply bad, as in too far away, then it will get banned by all those others until there comes closer nodes with better connections nearby.

In addition to these, you could also be getting rewards too often, which indicates your node might have either forked itself away, or it might have connected with nodes that have forked away.

To rule this possibility out, you need to check your latest transaction HASH from your wallet and compare it with Telos Explorer. The address in this article is the one that was in the Master node guide, so if it is not working, keep checking from the Teloscoin forum for a new one’s address.

Notice when comparing the HASH, that Explorer might not be showing the newest block yet. At least some Explorers have been waiting for blocks to verify for a certain amount of times before actually displaying them, resulting in explorer showing for example 50 blocks behind, meaning that when you go and check your HASH, and you don’t find it, it doesn’t mean you are at wrong fork yet, it might just mean that Explorer isn’t showing that new blocks yet. Hence, either wait or compare some older blocks HASH.

Also, you can check the Block number and compare what is explorers’ newest block number to see if Explorer is behind in its showing or not.

Got a Telos master node? There is now a master node competition!

Just today it was announced in the Discord channel that there is now a Master Node competition going on for the next 10 days.

The competition idea is to get Telos nodes to spread all around the world to have a more stable network.

To achieve this, or to at least find out the current situation, anyone with a Telos node can now win 1000 Telos, as long as it is located in a country that hasn’t been listed as a winner yet, excluding Germany, and as long as we are talking of a VPS or own server, so that excludes Blueboxes out of the competition as well.

There is one winner per country, but the same person can win a prize from several countries if he is the first one to tell that he has a node running on a country that has not been claimed yet.

However, it is not enough to just say that you have a node in some country but you need to prove it, and in addition, this node must have been running for at least 7 days.

However, since this is a 10-day long competition, it means that you could actually set up your node to one such country that has not been claimed yet and then 7 days later claim that prize, supposing of course someone else does not do that before you.

To prove that your node has been running for 7 days, it has to be seeable through https://masternodes.online/ or https://explorer.teloscoin.org/ or https://masternodestats.info/

And to claim for a win, you need to do that in the Community Discord I suppose, or at least that is where the first ones have done so.

At the time of writing this, which is roughly 1 hour after the competition was announced, 5 countries have been claimed so far: the USA, Canada, France, Finland, Poland.

Lucky 7 Article: “TELOSCOIN STATS AND SUMMARY AFTER FORK”

Catching up with some old articles to report to you now comes Lucky 7s article from July 25.

This article is telling a bit about stats and giving some other good info too, like where to check the current ROI for different Tiers etc. so well worth a read even some of the stuff is already outdated, but even the outdated stuff is good to have for historical reasons, since it shows what the situation was bit after the mandatory fork.

Alejandro Finol article: “TelosCoin goes into recession? Giveaways and more…”

Alejandro Finol has written yet another article which is talking about the recent price drop on Telos as well as some competitions that used to be still going on when the article was written, for, unfortunately, I am telling you about this article with about a two-week delay.

Anyway, Alejandro Finol did do some pretty accurate estimation in his past article about Telos price movement, hence it is worth keeping an eye on what he is talking about the Telos.

Telos 3 is working fine and you can trade on Crex24 again

Its been a long while since I wrote about the state of blockchain of newest mandatory update to Telos, but let it now finally be assured that as far as I have understood, everything is fine with Telos 3, have been for a long time already actually.

Network is stable and no more random forking happening.

In addition, Crex24 and all exchanges that matter have updated their wallets from Telos 2 to Telos 3, so you can now trade again on exchanges without worrying if they have updated their wallets or not.

Update on Blockchain situation

Yesterday I wrote a rumour article about Blockchain being Frozen, and it seems the choice to make it rumour was a good one since at least currently it looks like pretty much all my guesses were wrong.

Although this time information might be more correct that in the previous post, I still feel unsure about this all and hence decided to categorize this one as a rumour article too, meaning there is a good chance everything I say here is wrong as it seems was the case with the previous article.

Anyway, to the situation.

If I understood right, the problem with the fork was that almost no one happened to be staking with new wallets at the moment the new fork happened.

On top of that, it seems that Bitdorado, which is likely the biggest staker in the whole Telosland, dropped out at last block. I still don’t know if this crash was accidental or intentional. Regardless, when the difficulty for the first block of the new fork was calculated, it was based upon stakers present during the second last block, which included bitdorado and all the old wallets staking at that point.

Since there were only very few wallets with only a few coins staking the next block, the first block of the new fork, difficulty was very difficult and during yesterday I think only 3 blocks got progressed forward.

Basically going on like this would have eventually solved the problem as far as I understood, but because there were syncing and forking problems there, Pascal figured out a better way.

Yesterday in Discord people were asked to help set up the network in a small circle.

Idea is to sort of manually setting up the network to work with a small number of people only at first. This is to prevent wrong working old wallets/nodes, etc. from getting to the network to hinder it, as well as being able to effectively monitor if one of the nodes/wallets is forking away from the rest.

When this new circle will run stable for 24 hours or something, it will be opened for the rest of the world to join too.

Right now the situation is, as far as I understood, that basically the network has been set up and it is even running somewhat well, but not exactly stable yet.

But it anyway seems to be going towards better all the time.
So my guess is that sometime tomorrow, Telos network will be joinable to everyone again.

WARNING! Don’t use CREX24 for trading Telos now!

Crex24 Exchange is likely still using Telos 2, instead of the new Telos 3. So if you trade there, you are effectively trading with Telos 2 in there.

Therefore, Don’t trade Telos in Crex24 until it is confirmed it is safe to trade there again.

Of course, the interesting bit about this is that perhaps Telos 2 won’t be completely abandoned like Telos 1 was after the previous fork, but maybe thanks to Crex24, we will have Telos 2 and Telos 3 both existing at the same time. I, however, doubt there will be much price for Telos 2 compared to Telos 3, since except for Crex24, I wonder if anyone else is going to be supporting it, especially when considering that Stake Grinding and Phantom Nodes both exist in Telos 2 still, so there isn’t really much point in keeping it around.

Telos Blockchain in Frozen state currently.

I categorized this article as a Rumour article, since this article has very little facts but mainly just guesses, and I really don’t know much what I am talking about this time.

It appears that fact (perhaps the only fact in this article) is that Blockchain is currently frozen. I haven’t personally tried to start my wallet, so I haven’t confirmed this, but it appears no one in the Community channel is at the new blockchain, or at least not getting forward on it.

And then comes the rumors parts.

It would seem like this was actually planned by Pascal. Not sure exactly why, but it seems to have to do with flushing out scammers and troublemakers.

For some time already Pascal have said that there will come a fork, and then there will come another fork, and he have even mentioned of several forks coming in short while, to my understanding, to flush scammers etc. out.

And based upon talks in Discord, it seems like this Frozen state has something to do with community not having updated their wallets, how however, im not sure.

It also seems like this frozen state could last until Wallet3.0 is released unless of course community is able to do what they are supposed to do since basically based upon comments, it would seem like Pascal perhaps did the minimum required to do what he promised to do, but then he left the community to do the rest of the stuff that Community would be supposed to do, exactly with idea that he figured they wouldn’t, and this way to surprise all the scammers and troublemakers.

Anyway, right now seems like nothing happening on new Telos chain, and this will likely continue for a while (as in likely days)

But no worry, unless you are a scammer, your Telos should be safe, and it should be just a matter of time that things move forward again, and that time will likely be counted rather in days than weeks or months since Pascal mentioned of doing the wallet3.0 fork very quick and he has even mentioned of doing forks every 3 days perhaps for some time.

As far as I have understood, it is all part of the strategy. So relax and enjoy how scammers are finally getting punished in cryptoworld, now that is news worth telling about!

Governance.rocks voting of “2nd Coin Listing for Bitdorado Pool and Exchange” have ended

2nd Coin Listing for Bitdorado Pool and Exchange vote have ended yesterday, and it is bit unclear what the result is.

From below screenshot, you can see what the situation was showing at governance.rocks today and even week ago as far as I looked:

According to this, MERGE-coin would be clear winner.

However, before the deadline, I myself voted 15 votes to Biblepay coin. However, none of those votes updated to the governance.rocks.

So it remains to be seen if Biblepay will be the winner, or Merge coin, or maybe even some third one if by surprise someone else had the same problem as I did.

Anyway, this article will be updated when Pascal confirms the winner.

Official Transcendence Discord shut down by Pascal

Yep, you read that right. Pascal finally shut down the official Transcendence Discord channel and quite suddenly too due to an annoying argument in that Discord channel.

Unofficial Transcendence Discord Channel however is alive and well

Now while this news might sound shocking, no need to panic, however, since this sounds much worse than it is.

While Pascal might have done this move on a whim, it wasn’t completely unplanned. Pascal had thought about shutting down Official Discord a couple of times before, both when annoyed as well as when restructuring his plans.

For personally I think he always had a love-hate relationship with the Discord channel. It seems to me at the same time he loves to talk with the fans, but also hates the time it takes.

It has been very clear from several discussions in Discord that Pascal feels he is losing time from much more important projects from Telos community point of view too when he’s been talking in Discord, and for a long time he has been seeing it as a problem that needs to be solved.

Pascal had very clearly been planning to move more towards the background and hoping Community to take over more of Telos, that instead of him being the face of Telos, he was hoping Community to be the face of the Telos. One of the bigger moves towards this was when he announced the community jobs. Idea was that he was hoping there had come more people from Community, even some new blood to fill all these positions and he himself could have stayed more on the background.

However, there hasn’t been an exact rush of job applicants on those jobs, so for this, I have to say to you, the community, step up more!

If you feel you are not good enough, so arent the rest. As long as you get voted for the job position, you can stay there until next time someone else is voted. If you do a bad job, well, at least you tried.

So go on and run on to one of these positions, or find even some completely new blood to fill them. People without crypto experience are welcome too, since they think outside the box from our point of view and might help with plans to make the Telos mass adaption better.

Anyway. Official Transcendence Discord is now shut down, but Unofficial Community Transcendence Discord is well up and running, and Pascal himself is there too.

While it might look bad being such a sudden move, I am sure in the long term this is for the better, for now, Pascal finally can focus more on things that actually take Telos forward instead of looking at Discord (although I am pretty sure he will still be using more than a healthy amount of time in Community Discord).

Official Transcendence Discord is dead!
Long Live the Unofficial Trascendence Discord!

ps. Pascal is already talking of a new discord alternative maybe a week later with aml-now login, so I wouldn’t say it is completely dead, just being reborn.

update:

Pascal posted this about the closing of the Discord Channel to Bitcointalk thread:

“As mentioned a few times it is time to give some work over to the community .
We had for long time an official discord and a Second community discord were I have no mod rights.
This was the slow beginning to explain the last ones that I am not Telos.. I work on the code and I use telos .. it’s my multi purpose utility token of choice .. but it is also your coin and everyone’s coin. I am not important , my personal views on the world are not important. If I hate or love you is not important.

So finaly after this Saturday went again into a senseless discussion in the official discord i made it true and pushed the button .. the discord is now gone.

We will now come up with Telosgram (a funny namesugestion of a Community member) for aml-now User .. Spamfree , botfree.. estimated time for launch is 1 week starting from Monday.

Discord users are invited to the community discord:

Turkish Telos Telegram group opened

For a while, TELOSNEWS has been catching up with old news and today it is finally a time to post something timely again.

Turkish Telos Telegram group was just today announced on Telos Discord channel and if you happen to be one of those who talk Turkish or is otherwise interested in talking about Turkish situation, feel free to join it.

A question that might be in some people’s minds is if this Group will turn out to be a complete Turkey, but fear not, if it is about Telos, it will always be great!
